Hyde Park Community UMC Preschool, a non-profit, play-based preschool program, is searching for a part-time Lead Preschool Teacher for the 2023-2024 school year and beyond.

  • 5-day 3-5 year old class (Monday-Friday)

  • Hours for this part-time position are roughly 8:15 am-Noon

HPCUMC Preschool has strong beliefs and philosophies regarding child-led, play-based curriculum and empathic, respectful interactions with young children. We are looking for a preschool teacher who embodies these same beliefs and will treat our preschoolers with the respect and love that they deserve.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Planning and implementing developmentally appropriate experiences for children

  • On-going observing and assessing individual children and their needs

  • Following all state licensing regulations at all times

  • Participating in on-going staff training and professional development

  • Developing mutually trusting relationships with families through daily communication and annual parent teacher conferences

Candidates must have experience working in an early childhood classroom with a play-based curriculum. An Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field is preferred but not required. Pay is based on education and experience.
